Thinking Too Small Is Holding You Back

by Marianne Clyde

Are people around you discouraging your dream?

Do they tell you that your idea is too big? That no one cares about your dream?

That is no reason to get discouraged. However it is a reason to recognize that those opinions are “just information.” Those comments are important for you to hear to help guide you where you need to go. If the people you surround yourself are people who don’t get what you are saying, they don’t get what you are trying to do, it’s time to switch your focus.

Stop focusing on those that don’t get you. Stop seeking advice from those who are discouraging you. And focus on your own voice. Your own message. Your own dreams.

Write them down. Embellish them. Feel them. See them. Hear them. Envision how they will pan out.

Who do you want to be? Who ARE you? Be her. Think her thoughts. Take her actions. Be filled with her love and inspiration.

Who does she surround herself with? What does she listen to? WHO does she listen to? Where does she go? How does she spend her time.

Do that.

Yep. It can feel lonely. But you have to know that you are never alone. The forces of the universe. The spirit of God. That creative energy that continues to create universes and galaxies and love. That’s all inside of you. That never leaves you. Marinate in that love and power.

We change the world one person at a time. One idea at a time. One action at a time.

Stay focused. Your people will find you. Keep being you.

Action Step: Spend time each day practicing gratitude, looking for things to be happy about, looking for the little treasures that are all around you. Be Pollyanna. Look for ways to create beauty; keep talking about those things. People make fun of “being a Pollyanna.” But remember, Pollyanna changed her entire town. I’m here to help when you are ready. marianne@isntsheamazing.com
